Mayors’ Partnership for Progress applauds investment in Appalachian Ohio

June 28th, 2022

The Mayors’ Partnership for Progress is thanking the Ohio General Assembly for their support of House Bill 377, which enacts Governor DeWine’s proposed Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success) investment in Appalachian Ohio.

We are extremely grateful for Governor DeWine’s leadership, and also for our lawmaker’s support in his proposal. Our Appalachian communities are thrilled to begin initiating transformational yet sustainable change in our communities, the lives of our children and families, and the economic health of our businesses.

We are grateful for Governor DeWine’s ongoing commitment to partnering with Ohio’s local communities to build a stronger Ohio. These funds are a reflection of the administration’s commitment to bettering our communities through locally driven projects. By investing in our communities, improving community health, and preparing our workforce, this bill will transform our region and economy. We look forward to working with the Ohio Department of Development, the Governor’s Office of Appalachia, and the Local Development Districts to realize the full potential of the states investment over the next several years.
